Theliberaloc.com just posted a blog about how the living wage in Irvine was raised to about $10 an hour so that people could make a minimum of $20,000 in Irvine. What I find amusing is that people can live in Irvine for $20,000/year. No one can live in west Orange County for that. But I guess arguments against it say that people who work here, don't live here. It's half true. The law is for contract workers (it already existed for city workers). That's a lot more money than the minimum wage in the U.S.
